Computer dried fruit.

Each fall we gather apples from our distributed feral orchard
(http://duo.irational.org/food_for_free/orchard_of_avon/).
Some are used to seed further trees in border zones, but
others are for consumption.

For formal poetic reasons, we prefer to use our computer as an
agent of preservation, hence computer dried fruit.

First test.

computer dried fruit01

A feral apple ring was suspended, using a bent fork, in front
of the hot air vent of an office workstation.

After 24 hours it was dry and ready for storage.

Second test.

We constructed a drying box, using corrugated cardboard.
Inside we installed wire mesh shelves. This was then connected
to the computer exhaust vent using plastic pipe.
